Wall beasts are a slayer monster which requires having level 35 Slayer along with a Spiny helmet worn in order to kill. Those that have a Slayer helmet worn can also kill Wall beasts. If a player is below 5 Defence, a Slayer master will not assign Wall beasts as a slayer assignment due to the Defence level required for wearing the Spiny helmet. With the lack of drops that this monster is able to offer with the exception of the Mystic hat drop along with the poor spawn locations, this monster is not very popular and is often skipped if it is assigned as a slayer assignment.
Wall beasts are fairly well known for their surprise attacks on unprepared lower leveled players. Due to the max hit being 18, if no Spiny helmet is worn lower leveled players may often find themselves being killed unexpectedly by this monster unless a Spiny helmet is worn while exploring the Lumbridge Swamp Cave.
While fighting Wall beasts, it is advised to wear a Spiny helmet or a Slayer helmet as it will cause the monsters grabbing attack to fail making it easier to fight the monster normally. If neither is brought, the Wall beast will grab the player by the head and slam them against the wall which will deal 18 damage on the player. The Spiny helmet is only needed to initiate combat with the monster, after this has and it is attacking normally, it will no longer use the grabbing attack. This will allow a Black mask to be used by players that do not own a Slayer helmet.
It is possible to speed up the spawn rate of Wall beasts, this can be done by exiting the Lumbridge Swamp Cave and then re-entering it.
The Dragon halberd's special attack will not work against Wall beasts, due to the fact that Wall beasts are not considered to be a large monster.
Lower leveled players may find that they are able to slay Wall beasts fairly easy, due to the low max hit this monster has while a Spiny helmet is worn.
