What slayer tasks to do and not to do!
Firstly you will need to take into consideration the reason you're doing slayer, for the majourity of players slayer is an easy access skill which enables them to gain some GP while training there combat levels, but for some slayer is a fast way to make GP regardless of combat levels.
My personal opinion on slayer is if you're looking to make a consistant amount of GP and want to get into bossing and gain combat levels effciently, slayer is for you. Slayer is one of those skills where you either hate it or you love it, i mean who wouldn't love making RuneScape GP.
Tasks to do
Firstly, please consider your starting gear and the amount of effort you want to put into slayer. If you're an active player and don't AFK much then i would reccommend sticking with long winded tasks for example : 140 Black demons, If you're not a player who likes to remain fully concentrated all the time then i would suggest you stick with AFKable tasks.
Tasks you need to pay attention on are as follows
- Black Demons
- Greater Demons
- Dragon Tasks
- Trolls
- Spiritual Creatures
- Suqahs
- Nechryaels
although these tasks aren't the worst and still may not require much attention but prayer/cannon is needed to be most effecient with these tasks.
Tasks you can afk for the majourity of the time on are as follows
- Abyssal Demons
- Bloodvelds
- Hellhounds
- Kurasks
- Gargoyles (Unless you need to use rock hammer by hand without perk from slayer points)
- Dark Beasts
- Basilisks
- Cave Horrors
There are many more but these are the main ones i do and enjoy doing as i dont have to pay attention all the time but still make really good profit from.
The tasks i recommend for each combat bracket
Each combat bracket will have similar tasks within them, but some are only to be done if you can afford to do the task eg a cannon/cannon balls, prayer potions. From personal experiences i would only recommend people starting slayer at around 50-60 combat area, this is due to the DPS output you will be doing and how it will effect the speed of your tasks (This is only a guideline/recommendation you dont need to start at 50-60.)
50-70 combat tasks
- Crawling hands - Quick easy and never crowded
- Banshees - Quick easy and never crowded
- Desert Lizards - Quick experience and runes stack nicely (unless you have perk from slayer master you will need to manually use ice on the lizards before they die)
- Pyrefiends - Very easy and fairly low hp so fast tasks
70-85 Combat tasks
You can do all the above but i wouldn't recommend them at this level
- Infernal mages - Quick and easy but can cause some damage (Recommend range vs these)
- Brine rats - Medium speed but can make some good starter gp for slayer, (Brine sabres, raw shark noted)
- Bloodvelds - Quick and very good XP, Never skip these during your slayer grind
- Turoth - Easy GP and XP not afkable as such but plenty of them to kill
- Hellhounds - Never skip these, have to be one of the most relaxing tasks to do (Especially with a Cannon)
85 -126 Combat tasks
These tasks will all be money considering if you started at the recommended combat you will easily be high enough slayer to start to make decent GP per task. (By now you should easily have a slayer helm and if possible i would recommend you get it Imbued via Nightmare Zone)
- Cave horrors - Me personally like these tasks some dont but i have good luck here and masks are going for 803,507gp as of now (03/01/18)
- Aberrant Spectres - These are personally not my favourite but drop tones of herbs and battlestaffs so grind for that herb sack
- Dust devils - I personally grind these with a cannon quick easy and chilled
- Kurasks - undoubtedly one of the easiest money makers with slayer
- Skeletal Wyverns - Not only can you do these on task but you can also do them off task, awesome drop table and such easy gp never skip these as you normally get a small quantity of them anyway
- Gargoyles - Hands down the top 5 money makers via slayer easy alchables and others
- Abyssal demons - These are one of favourite tasks as they're quite chill and decent enough XP to keep you going
- Cave kraken - I mean, ive personally never known someone to skip these, easily 1m+ a task and such good XP also
- Cerberus - If you can learn the mechanics and get it down, well go on and crack at it, it can cost some gp but if you get that eternal or primordial crystal you're rolling in it!
- Smoke devils - easy money and easy xp, most people barrage the little ones, but the boss is also a decent goal to head for.
Most of these are via my personal preferrence, i haven't added gear suggestions as i can only go by my own opinion, but aim for the max bonus you can for each specifically designed task for example
A black demons task you're more likely to want prayer bonus such as proselyte armour but for tasks such as Hellhounds you may want the max DPS so bandos would be the way forward.
The guide is rough and quick, but i will be adding too it, hopefully it helps someone and i will go more into depth soon!
