Scarab swarms are poisonous scarab beetle swarms which have a low max hit but they have a very quick attack speed and have a high attack accuracy. They are often found crawling out of the ground in pyramid areas and may also spawn during Pyramid Plunder when a gold chest is opened.

This monster is only aggressive towards the player which causes them to spawn. Scarab swarms will not attack other players nearby and will disappear if ignored or the targeted player leaves the area. Scarabs which are found inside Pyaramid Plunder will have a lower combat level compared to the Scarab swarm, however they will have the same behavior and appearance.
