Last up, we’ve fixed the issue that was preventing items dropped due to Inventory overflow from being deleted when starting a new speedrun.
Just like the previous newspost, we’d like to give a big shoutout to the speedrunning community for all their help! If you’re looking for more information about where to start or just regular, friendly advice, check out the resources below:
And here we are, at the end of Poll 77! This batch of updates brings the latest Quality of Life poll to a close, but you should know that we are already discussing what's next, so you won’t have to wait too long to vote on Poll 78!
For now though, here's what's changing this week.
Scared of the Abyss? We’ve got you covered – you can now earn Essence Pouches at Guardians of the Rift! This is a moderately harder way to get your Pouches, with a 15/140 chance for one each time you claim a prize from the Rewards Guardian. Note that you’ll be unable to obtain a Pouch you already have, and if you are lucky enough to have them, the loot table rates will not be changed. As a cheeky bonus, each of the Pouches will now give you some free Essence to start you off!
Speaking of Essence Pouches, Cordelia is now able to repair them at Guardians of the Rift. Hand her 25 pearls to unlock the repair option, and she’ll charge just one pearl per repair – a real bargain, if you ask us! Especially considering she doesn’t even repair the Pouches herself and gets the poor Dark Mage to do it for free.
PvPers and Wilderness enthusiasts alike will be happy to know that they can now choose the default destination on the deep Wilderness lever – provided they’ve completed the relevant diary, of course. The option can be found in the Settings menu or on the lever itself. As always, do double-check what you’re clicking before you go around poking innocent lever cosplayers.
Get your Pickaxes at the ready, because we’ve removed the delay after Mining Copper, Tin, Coal, Blurite, Silver, Volcanic Ash, Gem Rocks, Gold, Mithril, Lovakite, Adamantite, Clay, Salts, Runite and Amethyst. Phew, we can take a breath now.
Following last week’s update, we’ve made some further changes to the ToA Combat Achievements:
- Huzzah! The kill count requirement to complete 'Novice Tomb Raider' and 'Tomb Raider' has been reduced from 100 to 50.
- Thanks to your feedback and to keep in line with other new ToA 'cheeves, we've moved 'Novice Tomb Explorer' from the Medium tier to Hard. We've also moved 'Tomb Raider' from Grandmaster to Master.
- A number of new items have been added to the list of equipment not allowed for the 'But... Damage' task.
- Bouldering on, not only have we made it a bit clearer when you fail 'No Skipping Allowed', but you'll no longer fail 'I'm In A Rush' after breaking one boulder.
- You can continue to 'All Praise Zebak' in peace, as you'll no longer fail that task when losing Prayer Points in any other room.
- Good news for you budding Achievement Hunters, all new versions of the avernic (ghommal's) will share the same placeholder in the bank as the regular avernic defender!
- MOBILE ONLY: fixed an issue causing the chatbox to enter an unusable state.
- We’ve added correct models for chests in the Garden of Death quest and made it a bit more obvious when you’ve translated a tablet.
- The spooky cauldron behind Zaff's shop has been shifted a bit so that its click-zone doesn't interfere with Zaff's barrel of staves.
- The signposts that open a full-screen display will no longer open on PvP or Deadman worlds, as the display could be awkward to dismiss in combat if opened accidentally. In addition to the usual perils of these worlds, it seems players must now cope with the risk of getting lost.
- The Imbued Capes of The Gods from Mage Arena II now protect over more items on death.
- Mining a large Ash Pile will now play the correct animations, keeping you moving and grooving exactly as you should be.
