Our investigations into foul play during Deadman: Armageddon is complete and we're now able to announce the prize-winners of the event, as well as share the outcome of the investigation and what action has been taken.
Firstly, we’d like to announce the winners for each bracket and the points-based draw.
If you watched the event, you may notice some of the names listed are not the same as those who were left standing – in total we have banned 260 accounts and disqualified a further 268 from Deadman: Armageddon, meaning any winners from these accounts are not eligible to win prize money. In these situations, the prize money has been awarded to the next person in line.

Further Action Taken
Following the Deadman: Armageddon Finale event, you rightly pointed out areas of investigation that go beyond just Deadman. We are committed to keeping Old School a safe and welcoming environment with a thriving community. Toxicity has no place in our game, and we are committed to acting against those who go out of their way to challenge this.
It was clear action needed to be taken to protect the future health of the game. As such, we can confirm the following:
- A further 204 accounts have been permanently banned for various offences within Old School RuneScape.
- Over 500 accounts have had their name changed, and their previous names made unavailable.
- On-going checks will continue to ensure similar names in the future are also removed.
- A number of in-game Clans and Friends Chats have been permanently closed, and their name reservations removed from the game so they can no longer be used.
Looking Into the Future
We will continue to remain vigilant against bad actors within our community, and action will be taken where we’re able to. We’re continually improving our tools and detection methods to keep Old School healthy.
Just recently Deathmatching was banned and we’re happy to report that we’ve seen great results with a significant reduction in activity – we're adapting our detection to follow where they attempt to retreat to and are actively banning those who do try to continue.
We’ve also improved our overall bot detection methods, including the cleansing of the Hiscores. You may have even noticed gaining a rank or two in the last few months!
As for Deadman, there’s a lot for us to consider how we approach future events. We feel it’s too early to talk more on this topic right now, but rest assured this is not something we will forget about.
