We have a couple of updates on our New Renderer and HD projects to share, especially with Sailing on the horizon and the end of the year barreling towards us, we wanted to make sure you're fully in the loop!

Cutting to the chase, we're going to temporarily disable the New Renderer beta for the remainder of the year while we take the time to respond to the brilliant community feedback we've received.

Some of the issues discovered during the beta don't have easy solutions, so we'll be taking the beta offline while we address these areas. As the changes will be quite large, we want to avoid destabilising the live-game especially for the launch of Sailing and over the Holiday period. Work will continue behind the scenes and we'll be addressing the following as our top priorities:

• Client stability - especially on mobile devices.
• Performance - while some devices have enjoyed huge performance gains in the beta, others were not where we'd want them to be.
• Character rendering - characters are still losing detail on many hard-won items, including kit like Skill Capes.

We'll be looking to come back strong with the New Render beta in the new year and aiming to finally migrate from the current renderer, a necessary step on the road to HD!

With HD relying on the New Renderer being stable, this means the wait for the HD beta on the Official Client will be a little longer. By casting our sights on 2026, we'll be making sure our team has the time to implement all the feedback and fixes needed.

Rest assured, though, work on HD is still ongoing, it isn't one then the other when it comes to dev work! Our team will still be working away on HD during this time.

The New Renderer beta will be deactivated October 29th.
