The Week Ahead: The Deep Clean, Leagues II wrapping up & New furniture limit!
JMod Replies on discussions worth highlighting:
The Deep Clean
The Deep Clean project was born from a desire to tackle the small annoyances that crop up and can interrupt your everyday flow. Focused on resolving persistent pain points that have been highlighted by players across our surveys and social channels, the initiative aims to address everything from excessive messaging and visual clutter to inconsistent icon designs.
The team has been hard at work to deliver a wide range of quality-of-life improvements inspired by player feedback and aimed at making day-to-day gameplay cleaner, clearer, and more enjoyable.
Some of the goals of this update are:
- Making the game feel cleaner and more modern.
- Preserving nostalgia while improving visual quality and consistency.
- Faster access to commonly used features and reduced menu navigation.
- Reducing click fatigue and removing interruptions from routine gameplay.
- Modernizing boss encounters and improving the bossing experience.
Below will be a complete rundown of everything that is included but we just wanted to highlight some long awaited features, such as finally being able to use your keyboard to input your Bank PIN! A fashionably fresh look for Skillcapes, Removal or refinement of confirmation boxes, increased TokKul-Zo charge storage, More boss healthbars, quicker fairy ring usage and more! Check them all out below.
What is included!
- The level 99 Skillcapes and their inverted counterparts have taken on a familar, but fresh look, along with new embroidered skill icons so they fit naturally onto each cape... moves us away from that decal look the old ones gave off.
- We spent long and hard thinking about how we go about restoring the glory of what are arguably one of the most iconic capes and silhouettes in RuneScape. On that note, we've opted to return to the skillcapes you know and love, whilst also giving them a lick of paint. Not just skillcapes though, Quest cape has gotten the love it deserves too.
- With that in mind, we've also removed the need for toggling the retro versions of the capes, removing the need for over 30 toggles from the settings interface in the process!
- To ensure a level of consistency, we've rolled out the new icons to the Master skillcapes and the banners hung in Elf City's Max guild. Inverted capes have been revisited too! Ensuring their colours respect their counterpart, and gives some variance for the two-toned tassels.
- Added a filter "Show Category Titles" to all ability books.
- Made some tweaks to Fairy Rings, making them quicker and easier to use
- The left-click option is now "Configure", opening the Fairy Ring interface directly.
- Added a right-click option to teleport directly to Zanaris.
- Added a "Last Destination" right-click option, allowing you to instantly return to your most recently visited Fairy Ring location.

- Removed a number of old and outdated login messages to reduce unnecessary clutter.
- Hid the unused Vote Now! poll interface from the Social menu.
- Fixed some issues with the UI:
- Standardized the hourglass icon across various interfaces for improved visual consistency.
- Updated the Prayer interface to use the correct button styling.
- Unified the appearance and behaviour of Help and Close buttons across several interfaces.
- Adjusted the size of various drop-down menus, including those found in the Settings and Edit Mode interfaces, improving readability and usability.
- Updated and standardized boss health bars across more encounters:
- Added boss health bars to several older encounters, including the Corporeal Beast and Chaos Elemental.
- Migrated additional legacy bosses to the modern boss health bar system for a more consistent experience across PvM.
- Reduced the intensity of the boss health bar fade-in animation, making it less intrusive during encounters.
- Repositioned boss health bars to appear above XP drops and XP orbs for improved visibility and a cleaner interface.

- Players will no longer receive warnings about boss instances expiring in x minutes. The only exceptions are bosses that require killcounts (GWD1, GWD2).
- Players can now use their keyboard to enter their bank PIN. The character needs to be linked to a Jagex account for this to work. It can be toggled in the "Settings" menu.
- Fixed various inconsistencies with button styles and colours across the Bank, Graphics Settings, and Customisations interfaces.
- We've reintroduced the difficulty category for quests!

- Similar to the Wendlewick/Marigold Farm teleport, players can now right-click other teleport spells to teleport to alternate locations if they meet the requirements. This affects Varrock, the Watchtower, Camelot and the house teleport.
- The following currencies are no longer displayed in the currency pouch:
- Heartments and H'oddments
- Travelling Merchant Coupons and Challenge Tokens
- Reward Currency from the Anima Islands D&D
- Added a new setting that allows players to toggle off the info box that appears above dropped items.
- We've corrected an issue with the interface sharing system where only the first two options were clickable.
- The TokKul-Zo can now hold up to 40,000 charges, and recharging it now costs 10 TokKul per charge.
- Deep Sea Fishing Hub’s "Deposit all fish" option now also banks fish carried by your beast of burden familiar, making it easier to clear your full catch in one go.
- We have reviewed a large of the confirmation boxes around the game and removed some while update others with a "Don't ask me again" function.
- Removed
- Death's item reclaim no longer asks if the player is sure they want to reclaim their items unless the value is over 100m
- A second message box has also been removed to keep the process fluid
- Entering the door at God Wars Dungeon 2 after having already entered the instance no longer asks for confirmation
- Cutting Dragonstone's into bolt tips no longer offers a warning, whilst Onyx and Hydrix warnings still remain
- Removed the confirmation when attempting to deploy the herb burner
- 'Don't ask me again' options added
- PvM hub portal teleport warnings for Bork, Kree'arra, General Graardor, Kril'tsutsaroth, and Commander Zilyana
- When using the quick-sell option on farmhands at player-owned farms
- When using elite skilling outfit teleports
- When entering the Abomination boss fight after completing the Death of V quest
- When using the World Gate to Kethsi and Tarddiad respectively
- Added an option to 'Charge all' when using pylon batteries in Kharid-et
- Removed warning of needing both hands free when attempting to enter Herby Werby
- Removed the need for a second click when using the Archaeology guild travel map's
- The info option has been moved to the second option on right click
- Improved the experience of adding crops to compost bins, by offering 'add X', 'add all', and 'add all + don't ask me again'
- Improved the experience of converting logs to planks with coins by allowing them to just convert if only one type is held, and then filtering down the options presented if multiple types are held
- Removed the need to input a number when adding scrolls to the Globetrotter arm guards
- Selecting 'Private encounter' on Godwars Dungeon 1 boss doors will now correctly display the instance menu rather than asking if you want private or public
- Streamlined invention blueprint discovery to require less confirmation and 'continue' buttons to smooth out the experience
- Fixed some minor issues with the colour and the size of the stats tooltip background.
- Fixed some further interface inconsistencies, such as issues with the Arc travel interface.
- We've restored the default of showing the player's combat level when right-clicked, regardless of the player having a weapon sheathed or not.
- The poison spiders at the entrance to the King Black Dragon can no longer hit players over the wall, preventing them from starting an instance.
- The Kalphite Queen entrance now has more eggs and bones around it to prevent the Kalphite Guardians from interrupting the instance creation.
Phew! Hopefully these changes help make your adventures across Gielinor a little faster, smoother, and easier.
