The path beyond Amberfell is finally open. The rest of Havenhythe is yours to explore...

Venture east and discover the rest of the island, from the Boglands of Fenmoor and the strange Exalted Quarry to new skilling activities, creatures, rewards and secrets tucked away across Havenhythe.

The Sanguine threat is spreading too and your journey across the island will bring you face to face with new dangers in the next quest, Heralds of Crimson.

There's a lot to discover, so let's get into it.

The Story Continues: Heralds of Crimson

Inanna's visions of Wendlewick's demise draw ever closer.

In Heralds of Crimson, the Sanguine thread encroaching on Wendlewick will lead you beyond Amberfell and through the new regions of Havenhythe, eventually bringing your journey towards an inevitable conclusion in Shuruk-Ba.

Waiting there is The Crimson Throne...

What happens next is yours to discover.

  • Quest requirements:
    • Secrets of Amberfell
    • 55 Herblore
    • 51 Crafting
    • 65 Mining
    • 60 Smithing

Heathervein And The Exalted Quarry

Your journey east will eventually bring you to Heathervein, a mining settlement built around one of Havenhythe's strangest resources: the Exalted Quarry.

There's something very old beneath this place, but the people of Heathervein have found a much more practical use for what's been left behind.

The quarry offers a new way to gather Runecrafting supplies while training Mining and Crafting. You'll mine Essence Lumps, Chunks and Slabs from deposits throughout the quarry, then process what you've gathered into Rune Essence.

The higher your Mining and Crafting levels, the bigger the deposits you'll be able to tackle:

Mining Level Resource Crafting Level
to Process
65 Essence Lumps 51 Crafting
85 Essence Chunks 71 Crafting
105 Essence Slabs 91 Crafting

Don't fancy processing everything yourself? You'll also have the option to trade your finds in for a reduced return.

A More Relaxed Way to Runecraft

While you're working the quarry, you'll also be able to gather Exalted Essence.

Take this to supported Runecrafting altars and you'll have a new, less click intensive way to train Runecrafting.

It's not here to replace the traditional methods you already use. Instead, if you fancy something a little more relaxed and lower intensity, Exalted Essence gives you another way to settle into some Runecrafting training.

Uncover the Memories of the Colossi

The Colossi left their mark all over Havenhythe, and venturing further across the island will give you another way to uncover their history.

With 77 Divination and partial completion of Heralds of Crimson, seek out Aurriel, the old tender of the Divine Fall, who will task you with gathering memories from the remains of a dead Colossi.

You'll collect these memories within a Memory Stone, which will attune itself to one of several murals found across Havenhythe.

Then it's time to go find it.

Take your filled stone to the correct mural and return those memories to the land to earn Divination XP and Remnant Energy, alongside some Agility XP as the activity sends you travelling across the island.

This is a more active way to train Divination, with your XP rewarding you for staying engaged and moving between memories and murals rather than settling into one spot.

Keep at it and there may be more to discover too. You might uncover some hidden lore about the Colossi themselves, as well as an item that can help speed up the activity.

Requirements: 77 Divination and partial completion of Heralds of Crimson.

Meet the Bogolins of Fenmoor

Venture further east and things start getting a little... boggier.

Welcome to Fenmoor, the damp and dreary home of the Bogolins.

These strange, nervous, semi-aquatic folk have their own culture, their own stories and a respect for the bog they call home, while keeping a wary eye on their Sanguine-touched cousins.

They also place quite a lot of importance on the totems they build from the enormous petrified trees found throughout Fenmoor.

That's where you come in.

Chop the petrified trees around the bog to gather Petrified Roots, Bark and Wood. The higher your Woodcutting and Fletching levels, the bigger you can go:

Woodcutting Level Resource
65 Petrified Roots
85 Petrified Bark
105 Petrified Wood

Put Those Materials to Work

Once you've gathered enough Petrified Roots, Bark and Wood, head to the centre of the glade and put those resources towards building one of the Bogolins' Totems.

There are three to work towards, each requiring a different Fletching level:

Fletching Level Totem
65 Toad Totem
85 Mollusc Totem
105 Elemental Totem

Any of the resources you've gathered can be used towards whichever Totem you're building. Better resources will make more progress towards completing it, while your Fletching XP is determined by the Totem you've chosen to build.

Building offers a good, low-cost way to train Fletching.

And if you're only here for the Woodcutting? There's a deposit point in the glade too, so you can bank what you've gathered and carry on chopping.

Once you've finished a totem, the Bogolins will take it away to help ward off their Sanguine cousins and reward you with bundles containing some new goodies.

Among them is the Fenshell Knife, a new Fletching main-hand, alongside your very own Bogolin Stick, which can be used to create a new mid-level Magic staff.

You'll also have a chance to get the Bogolin Sogtorch, which increases your success rate while Woodcutting, with an even bigger boost while chopping in Fenmoor. That includes the petrified trees you've just been chopping, giving you a handy way to speed up future trips to the glade.

Face New Slayer Threats

Of course, not everything waiting beyond Amberfell is quite as friendly.

The Sanguine corruption has spread further across Havenhythe, twisting some of the creatures you'll encounter as you explore the island.

Sanguine Bogolins

It turns out the Bogolins were right to be worried.

These unfortunate Bogolins have fallen under the influence of the Sanguine and can be fought with no Slayer requirement. They're also a pretty decent source of XP, if you can survive their rather... explosive nature.

Sanguine Werewolves

The former people of Berylbrook haven't escaped the Sanguine's influence. Now twisted into Sanguine Werewolves, these hunters use bleeding attacks and Sanguine pressure to wear you down during combat.

There's no Slayer requirement to fight them, but you'll need 72 Slayer before they can be assigned as a Slayer task.

Ravenous Strigoi

At the other end of the scale are the Ravenous Strigoi, a new vampyric threat arriving directly from Vampyrium.

You'll need 104 Slayer before you can take these on.

All three have been twisted by the Sanguine in one way or another, so now is a pretty good time to dust off those Anti-Sanguine Potions and Havensilver weapons.

Havensilver is Getting Stronger

We're also changing the way Havensilver weaknesses work.

Previously, creatures weak to Havensilver took 50% reduced damage from other damage sources. With today's update, that penalty is gone.

Instead, Havensilver will now deal 50% increased damage against Sanguine creatures.

So you can still take these creatures on using your usual gear, but bringing the right tools for the job will give you a significant advantage.

New Slayer Rewards

If you're taking on Havenhythe's newest threats, there are naturally some new things to chase too.

Crimson Ichor can now be dropped by Sanguine Bogolins, Sanguine Werewolves and Ravenous Strigoi.

Combine it with Remnant Energy to create three new Sigil Codices:

  • Sanguine Offering Codex
  • Vampyre Slayer Codex
  • Vital Drain Codex

You might want to get acquainted with those before the Blood Knights arrive...

If you're hunting Sanguine Bogolins, keep an eye out for the Fen-Orb, which can be used to upgrade the Bogolin Earthborne Staff to tier 78.

And for those brave enough to take on the Ravenous Strigoi, you can hunt for the Nightblood Ring, a new Ranged crossbow ring that increases the chance of enchanted bolts activating.

More Of Havenhythe To Explore

There's plenty more scattered across the eastern side of Havenhythe beyond these skilling activities.

As you explore, you'll find:

  • Three additional Woodcutting tree types
  • Two new Fishing spots
  • New Farming patches
  • New seeds
  • An additional Bloodwood Tree location.

So whether you're heading east for the story, looking for somewhere new to train or simply fancy seeing what's hiding around the next corner, have a wander. There's plenty tucked away across the island.

And while you're training, keep your eyes open.

You might come across pieces of a rather strange old painting...

We'll leave you to figure out what that's about.

A New Entry from Anya

As the Sanguine spreads and the path east opens, Anya has been keeping a few more thoughts to herself.

Here's the latest entry from her journal...
