- Last week we shared our plans regarding what's happening with MTX items in RuneScape. There were a few questions in community discussions that it's worth talking to today already though we will, as usual, look to properly preview final changes at a later date and before they go live. Additionally, it's important to note that already on the MTX Item removal date (November 23rd) we will be implementing many resolutions for removed effects as is sensible and in line with RuneScape's current direction.
- Brooch of the Gods:
- We are looking to implement a new effect onto the Brooch as part of our lategame rebalance, which is planned to be launching in close proximity to the MTX removal in November. We'll share our plans for the Brooch in a preview of the lategame balance, which we're aiming to post in October. If you have any immediate hopes or ideas for what you would like to see for the Brooch's new effect, we're happy to take them into consideration!
Please do note, however, that portables are being removed (not revised) because of the overpowered effect they have of benefit accumulation into a single item. With that in mind, the Brooch is unlikely to be able to have portable effects ported over wholesale and needs to have a more reasonable effect instead. - Life Refresh
- We saw concerns from players that removing the Sign of Life would, in essence, also remove the effect of the Life Refresh. We want to therefore clarify that we are simply removing the item that is the Life Refresh. The Sign of Life and Portent of Life is something that we would consider adjusting as a result, as the intent with this particular update is to remove MTX items, not change the way players engage with bossing. In order words, the effect is not at risk, we are simply considering better ways of integrating it into the game loop.
- Slayer VIP Tokens
- The reason for tackling Slayer VIP Tokens as part of this update is because they were a heavily monetised item and we want to change how their benefit is activated to be in line with the design practices that align with RuneScape's direction.
- Silverhawk Boots
- We observed some requests that these should remain as a cosmetic - this is something that we should be able to do.
- Bank Filter
- We're currently working on a couple of bank filters to help you easily find those banked items that are being moved or removed as part of this upcoming update. We'll let you know when these are ready for release!
- We also launched the Deep Clean last week, which affected a number of different things in the game. Most notably, we observed some feedback for the Skill Cape changes, so we want to address that today.
- We'll be addressing the concern around icon size by increased the sizing, which should also improve the way they generally display and integrate into the cape. In particular the Dungeoneering cape will feel like it has received the most improvement due to us additionally resolving a bug with it's texturing. This change isn't yet in today's update, but will be releasing with the next weekly patch. Inverted Capes, particularly their untrimmed versions, are something we're still working on resolving as we want to make sure that the colours for each of them is displaying as expected.
- The Max Guild Banners are also on our to-do list to address and adjust the positioning of. However, we are focusing first on ensuring that issues with the capes are resolved before we turn our attention to the Max Guild banner.

Havenhythe Part II
When adventurers first set foot on Havenhythe, they arrived on the shores of a forgotten island steeped in mystery. Ancient ruins, strange magic, and whispers of a long-lost past hinted that something far greater lay hidden beyond the horizon. It was only the beginning of a new story, one built on exploration, discovery, and the unexpected encounters that have always been at the heart of RuneScape.
Now, the journey continues.
The path beyond Amberfell is finally open, and the rest of Havenhythe awaits. Venture deeper into the island and uncover the mist-shrouded Boglands of Fenmoor, the enigmatic Exalted Quarry, and a trove of new skilling opportunities, creatures, rewards, and secrets waiting to be explored.
But Havenhythe's mysteries are far from its only concern. The Sanguine threat continues to spread across the island, and your travels will lead you towards the next chapter of the story in Heralds of Crimson, where new dangers await those brave enough to face them.
There is much more to discover beyond Amberfell, so let's take a closer look at what awaits in the next chapter of your Havenhythe adventure.
And the adventure doesn't end there! On October 12th, you'll come face-to-face with the Ghrazi Blood Knights in an all-new duo-only boss encounter.
You've already seen the corruption and chaos the Sanguine has unleashed across Havenhythe. Now it's time to strike back before it's too late.
To challenge the Blood Knights, you'll first need to complete Heralds of Crimson, the next chapter in Havenhythe's unfolding story. Be sure to finish the quest before October 12th so you're ready to take the fight directly to the source of the spreading threat.

- The Guthixian grandmaster teleport nexus now displays the correct number of teleport destinations.
- Ironman mode accounts can now purchase the following Leagues 2 rewards on the Grand Exchange;

- Portable Workbench re-enabled with the same effects that it had previously. Construction Tutorial quest is a pre-requisite for using the Portable Workbench.
Hotfixed
- Resolved an issue in which Queen Black Dragon was not providing Tortured soul Essence for Kili's knowledge task.
- Resolved an issue stopping players from rejoining boss instances.
- Bill now correctly cuts logs into planks when clicking outside the dialogue box.
- Players that did not receive their Leagues Equilibrium trophies at the end of Leagues will have them awarded on their next login where they can be reclaimed from Diango.
